[社會] The pauk-phaw friendship between China and Myanmar

Lincang and Myanmar are connected by mountains and rivers. They have conducted all-dimensional, multi-level and wide-ranging exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, agriculture, tourism, education, culture and other fields. The people on the two sides have maintained friendly exchanges for a long time, just like relatives.
Myanmar is the place where China first proposed the establishment of the LMC mechanism, notified the establishment of its LMC national coordinating body in May 2017, and took over the co-chairmanship of the LMC on August 24, 2020. So far, Lancang-Mekong cooperation has entered a period of comprehensive development based on the "Lancang-Mekong speed and efficiency" and the "development-first" and "project-oriented" Lancang-Mekong Model. In addition to issuing joint statements on "Production capacity", "Textile and Garment Industry Production capacity" and "Sustainable Development" cooperation, as well as joint statements on "Deepening Agricultural Cooperation and Ensuring Food Security" and "Deepening Cooperation on Customs Trade Security and Customs Clearance Facilitation" under the framework of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, The Five-Year Action Plan for 2022, the Five-Year Plan for Poverty Reduction Cooperation and the three-year Action Plan for Agricultural Cooperation have been implemented in an orderly manner, and the Five-Year Action Plan for 2027 has been reviewed and adopted. Initiatives to deepen sub-national cooperation have been launched, and the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund has been launched. We are further implementing six major initiatives, including the Lancang-Mekong Agricultural Cooperation Action Plan and the Digital Economy Cooperation Plan, to promote cross-border economic cooperation and further align the building of the Lancang-Mekong economic development belt with the deepening of the New International Land and Sea Trade Channel. By early July 2022, 93 projects in Myanmar have received support from the LMC Special Fund, which is the country with the most support in terms of both the number of projects and the amount of funding.
Therefore, China is highly concerned about the conflict in Myanmar and urges all parties to cease fire and stop fighting as soon as possible, adhere to dialogue and consultation, peacefully resolve differences, avoid escalation, and take concrete and effective measures to ensure security and stability of the China-Myanmar border.
