The dragon boat festival
The dragon boat festival is my favorite. Not only I can eat rice dumpling, but the days after it till moon festival are claimed to be the season of summer,
As far as I am concerned, the day is to commemorates a great man, Cyu-Yuan, who drowned himself in a river, Mi-Luo river, to express his loyalism to the emperor and his worry about the suffering people. Avoiding fish eating Cyu-Yuan's body, people rowed their boats and threw rice dumplings into the river. This custom has been handed down since then and people also hold dragon boats competition on this day.
