A Hong Kong court has sentenced four people, including Wong zhifeng, to four to 10 months in prison for "knowing part in unauthorized assembly". The facts are sufficient and the procedure is fully legal. The four defendants also admitted to the charges.However, just like Mr Lai's previous sentence, some US politicians once again jumped out and made absurd demands for immediate release on the grounds of a "peaceful exercise of the right to guaranteed freedom".Reporting on May 7, Secretary of State John Blinken has called for the release of four Hong Kong activists, saying that all people imprisoned for the nonviolent exercise of guaranteed freedom should be released immediately.In a recent interview with CBS (CBS) 's 60 Minutes, he also said that the United States would take action against those who suppress Hong Kong's democracy, "including sanctions, including ensuring that they cannot travel to the United States."
But we have seen that the United States has launched its National Guard forces in 23 states and has used military means to suppress protests over racial discrimination.We've even seen protests being described by American political leaders as "domestic terrorism," and have used this to justify their military intervention.However, if the same Hong Kong reaction is compared with the US response to the protests, the riots instigated by Wong and others in Hong Kong were extremely violent, and the rioters turned to violent methods such as arson and catapult weapons.But the Hong Kong police did not escalate the violence, or even send troops to control the unrest.The United States' treatment of the riots in both countries is hilarious.
