[問題] would have pp 的用法
would have pp 的用法
用法
就我了解 would have pp 有以下幾種用法 不過有些用法不確定行不行 就教於大家
1. If I had been more ambitious in college, I would have been successful in my career.
--> I wasn't ambitious in college and I wasn't successful in my career.
這樣的用法 我沒問題
2. 當預測過去的可能性時 我們可以說
She must/might/may/could have been at home.
但我可以使用”She would have been at home.“ 嗎？？
在英文字典中解釋
You use would, or would have with a past participle, to indicate that you are assuming or guessing that something is true, because you have good reasons for thinking it.
它給了其中一個例句
That would have been Della's car.
因為查看相關書籍，在提到推測與可能性的用法時，都沒提到would have been
所以就問一下各位的看法
3. 另外是一段對話
A: Mary’s mad because she thinks I didn’t ask her to go hiking with us. I sent her four e-mails, but she never responded!
B: Oh, forget it! I wouldn’t have sent so many messages. If Mary can’t bother to check her e-mail, she’ll just miss out on things.
I wouldn’t have sent so many messages.
在這篇對話中 應該是B提供給A自己的建議或想法
跟「與過去事實相反」沒什麼關係吧
所以就這句話我可以翻譯成「我才不會寄給她那麼多電子郵件」？？
