DOH warned chain restaurants -- word choice
This is my first post and I honestly don't know if I should post it somewhere else (e.g. Writers' bootcamp). Since this forum attracts more attention, I think here might be the better place.
I came across an article on the Taipei Times by Jimmy Chuang today and I would like to know if everyone would agree with the reporter.
"The Department of Health yesterday threatened to close certain McDonald's and Domino's fast food restaurants if they failed to improve the quality of their edible oil."
"The threat came after two of the chains' restaurants ..."
I have trouble with the word "threat" being used in this situation by the author. Especially it was issued by the Government. Wouldn't "warn" and "warning" be better choices? What do most of you think?
